The extension cable supplied with the kit is 6 feet long, but longer ones can be found and purchased. The other alternative is to combine the Aperture Gigtube with the <a href="http://www.photoxgear.com/2010/05/aputure-pro-coworker-%E2%80%93-camera-remote-shutter-system-purchase/" rel="nofollow">Aperture Coworker (found here)</a>, have the Gigtube attached with the video cord only and use the shutter lock on the Coworker to trigger and time the camera on bulb. This type of setup is very effective for astro-photography as the camera is usually at a odd angle to see the viewfinder very well.
