  1. Floyd Gilzow says:

Any chance that this product will work on any of the Pentax models (K-7) with Live View???

  2. admin says:

    Hi Floyd,
As long as the video out on the camera is a standard miniplug or you have the video out to av cable from the camera manufacturer the Gigtube should work with any camera that has live view. The remote trigger portion may not work however, i would need to do some more research to see what remote cable the Pentax cameras use.

  3. Mai Armand says:

    Hi,
I have the same question as Floyd.
I own a Pentax K10D, and would eventually have a mail if your research is positiive or negative.

Thanks for all and best regards.A.MAI

  4. admin says:

    Hi Mai,

The Gigtube as it is in the box does not have the AV connection to work with the video out port of the Pentax cameras. However the Pentax cameras use the same remote connection as the Canon Rebel series (the 1C Gigtube; GW1C or GT1C). If you use the video cable that comes supplied with your Pentax camera as an adapter, the 1C Gigtube should work. Please email info@photoxgear.com and we can send you some more information on this if needed. Hope this helps, please let us know if there is anything else we can do, thanks and happy shooting!

  5. Danny says:

Will the Aperture Gigtube wireless do bracketing If Nikon D700 is set in bracketing mode?

  6. admin says:

    Hi Danny,

Yes it will, the firing button on the Gigtube will act as if you were standing right at your camera hitting the button yourself; so if the camera is set to bracket and would normally do so, than it still will while using the Gigtube. Thanks and happy shooting!

  7. Paul says:

I see it only taking stills on Youtube. Does it have video controls for the Canon 1D Mark IV or 7D?

  9. Paul Kuroda says:

Yesterday, I asked if this will trigger the video mode remotely as it will be a deal breaker for most anyone with the idea of using this to use in lieu of the Marshall monitors. However that question (this happed in anorther product launch of yours) was deleted.

  10. admin says:

    Hi Paul,
The Gigtube’s shutter button is tied directly to the shutter button on the camera. So if you can use the shutter button to start/stop recording video, then you can use the Gigtube also. Unfortunately for the Canon line of cameras, the start/stop recording button is not the same as the shutter button, so the Gigtube has no controls over video outside of just relaying the image to you.

  11. admin says:

    Hi Paul,
Your previous question was not deleted, it just hasn’t been approved and responded to until now. The Gigtube will not trigger the start/stop of recording on Canon cameras as Canon does not use the shutter button for video. The Gigtube’s shutter button does exactly what the cameras shutter button does, unfortunately Canon moved the start/stop function to a different button on the back of the camera, so the remote ability of the Gigtube will not trigger the Canon for video. Hope this helps, if there is anything else we can do for you please let us know. Thanks and happy shooting!

    Hi
The reciver right out of the box does not work. Battery OK. I need Tec. support. You got a phone #.

    Tnx

    Larry

  14. admin says:

    Hi Larry,
Sorry to hear about that, please call us at 847-201-4623 and we will do what we can to get the unit working or a working unit to you right away!

  15. Wenson le says:

Does it work in hassle h or phase one camera?
    Thanks.

  16. admin says:

Hi Wenson, The Gigtubes will work on any camera that has a video out port. The live view aspect is up to the camera however, we do not have a Hasselblad H Series or Phase One here to try it out on though. Hope this helps, sorry we can’t give a better answer at this time.

  17. Reggy says:

  19. David says:

    Hello,
Can someone tell me if the LCD unit has any kind of hot shoe or 1/4-20 mount on it?

  20. admin says:

    Hi David,
The LCD unit does have a 1/4-20 mount on the bottom of it so it can be mounted to almost anything. Hope this helps, please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you, thanks and happy shooting!

  21. Bob Zuvich says:

Um, in case any of you are like me (old, forgetful)? If you use this on a Canon EOS 5D MKII and usually do stills and not video, you have not figured out that the audio and video jacks are the same size, so that the video cable from the sender fits both. If you have it “all plugged in”, charged and on? It will obviously not work! Doubtful it hurts anything, but when you place the plug into the right jack? Sweet!

Now that warmth is finally coming, I can do the bugs and flowers I have waited for. Maybe even tripod shots of birds at feeders, while safely away to avoid hummingbird attacks ;-)

  22. John Le says:

Any chance that this product will work on the Nikon D200

  23. admin says:

    Hi John,
The Gigtube remote viewing ability relies on the camera’s live view function, as it uses the video out feed of the camera. If the camera doesn’t have live view (which the D200 does not) then you won’t see the image on the remote unit. However, the unit can still be used to show the image after it was taken (the Gigtube functions identical to the rear lcd screen on the camera just in a remote capacity, what the rear lcd would show you is what the Gigtube will also show), and work as a remote shutter. Hope this helps, if there is anything else we can do please let us know, thanks!

  24. Tom says:

    Hi,
I see you have 2 units, one, the screen attaches directly to the hot shoe. Two, a remote transmitter attaches to the hotshoe. Will either or both of these units work on an olympus E-620?Thanks,Tom

  25. admin says:

    Hi Tom,
Yes both units will work with the Olympus E-620. For the wireless model look for the GW3L kit (it will list the E-620). For the wired model we do not have a premade kit listed for the Olympus, but if you make a note when purchasing a wired kit (or send an email to info@photoxgear.com) we can swap the connection cable for the one to fit the Olympus E-620 before we send it out to you. Hope this helps, if there is anything else we can do please let us know, thanks!

  26. R. Edlin says:

Will this work with a Sony a850 and a Sony a900? Looks like a S1 sord mihgt adapt it. If not how do we adapt it to these cameras? Thanks

  27. admin says:

Yes, both the Sony a850 and a900 models have the correct remote connection for the S1 cable to work. Unfortunately there is not a S1 cable available for the Aputure Gigtube at this time. Hope this helps, if there is anything else we can do please let us know, thanks and happy shooting!

  28. R. Edlin says:

This device could be very handy in my work. Can you think of any way to adapt this to the Sony a858/a900? I’m also handy with a soldering iron.

  29. admin says:

Call or email me directly and we could discuss some options for you; 847-201-4623 ext 222 (for tech support) or info@photoxgear.com. I have a few ideas but would need to go over them with you in more detail than this forum allows for space, thanks and i look forward to your call/email! – Jeff @ photoXgear / Fotodiox Inc

  30. Bob says:

    Can I use a camera mounted flashgun FL50 R with a E620 with the gigtube gw3l attached.

  31. admin says:

Hi Bob, You can use the flashgun with the unit. The receiver does not need to sit on the cameras hot shoe to work, it can be left hanging down or velcrod to the tripod (the cameras hot shoe is just a handy place for it to sit when a flash is not being used).

  32. Bob says:

Thanks for that reply.you said the reciever can be left hanging but then how would you view an image. Can the transmiter be plugged in and left hanging and the reciever used as viewer/shutter release

  33. Bob says:

Great reply on first question (1 day) but it is now three days since last enquiry has someone knocked off for Xmas earlry.

  34. admin says:

Hey Bob, Exactly; the transmitter does not show any image itself, only transmits the image to the viewer/shutter release. So the transmitter (shown in the hot shoe mount), only needs to be plugged into the shutter release port and video out port for the unit to work.

  35. admin says:

Nope, still here, just with the holiday rush we’re a little behind on responding to everyone, sorry about the wait!

  36. Rob says:

Hi, Is there any way that a flash gun can be mounted at the same time?

  37. admin says:

    Hi Rob,
Yes; the transmitter on the hot shoe is there as a convenient placement only, it does not need to stay in the hot shoe for the unit to work, it can be left dangling from the camera (or as some customers do, use a Velcro piece to adhere it to the tripod). So you can put a flash gun in the hot shoe (or attached via pc sync) and when the camera fires the flash will also. Hope this helps, if there is anything else we can do please let us know, thanks and happy shooting!
